Oh, my. These signs are always a source of amusement for me. I wonder how many of these folks are aware that even some old stalwarts like Billy Graham have moved more towards a symbolic and metaphorical understanding of Hell?
I'm not sure I knew that about Billy, Doug B. How's Franklin handling the change?
What interests me about these signs Don is the fact that I think the people who put them up think they (the sayings) are clever. I wonder how many of them get a sick feeling in the pit of their stomachs when they put these up. You'd think they would.
Doug- Sometimes I'm amused, sometimes saddened. And yes, I did know that about Billy G. Still, things come out of his mouth that make me say, "Are you kidding?"
Zoe- I feel the same way. Mainly because when I was in the "institution" there were some ideas and things which people said that made me a little queazy. Of course, I would blame myself for feeling that way and excuse it because I was weak, unfaithful, reprobate, and, of course, a sinner.
